About Pitip
Pitip is a fast, accurate tip calculator for iPhone, Apple Watch, Android, and Wear OS, built for the moment the check arrives. Enter the bill or point the camera at the receipt, tap a percentage, and the tip and total appear instantly.
Pitip's stand-out feature is honest math. As mandatory service charges and surcharges become common on US checks, tipping on the whole total means tipping on fees. Pitip reads the total, tax, and fees off the receipt and can calculate the gratuity from the food alone: on an $86.75 check with $7.16 tax and a $3.00 service fee, a 20% tip is $15.32 rather than $17.35. Splits are penny-exact, so a $104.10 total four ways is two people at $26.02 and two at $26.03, never a rounding argument.

Feature Highlights
- Receipt scanning. Point the camera at the check and the total, tax, and fees fill themselves in. Recognition runs on-device (Apple's Vision framework on iOS, Google's ML Kit on Android), works offline, saves no photo, and uploads nothing. Every scanned amount is shown for confirmation before it is applied.
- Tip before tax & fees. Calculates the gratuity from the subtotal alone, so tax and mandatory service charges stay out of the tip.
- Penny-exact splitting. Divides the total, tip included, across up to 20 people. Shares always add up to the exact total, and Pitip shows who pays the extra cent.
- Rounding and Make Total. Round the final total up or down, or name the exact amount you want to pay and Pitip back-calculates the tip.
- Wearables first. Full Apple Watch and Wear OS apps with bill splitting on the wrist, quick-tip presets that sync from the phone, and watch-face complications on Apple Watch.
- Widgets, Siri, and recents. The last bill lives on the iPhone Lock Screen or Android home screen, Siri can start a tip hands-free, and the last three bills stay one tap away.
